The Aviation Program engages students in a fully certified flight school and prepares for the necessary training to receive a pilot’s license. It operates through a partnership with the Alpha One Flight School in nearby Plymouth, Massachusetts, where students receive instruction through an integrative lecture format. A variety of visual aids accompany lectures and classrooms are fully equipped with navigation planning tables and computer weather stations. Furthermore, the classroom provides all necessary tools for pre-flight and post-flight briefings.
Instructors follow the Private Pilot Part 61 training syllabus, which allows students to work at their own pace and enables instructors to make adjusts to suite their developing piloting skills. The training syllabus also enables to use Elite simulators approved by the Federal Aviation Administration on rainy days. Completion of the program provides students with instructional in-flight hours that count towards the 40 hours needed to acquire a pilot’s license.
